In these warmer days of spring , I started to crave something to drink cold. And iced tea season officially opened. For the last 2-3 summers I make iced tea at home.
Ingredients ( For 4-5 liters :) We drink a lot )
- 4 tablespoons loose black tea
- 1 tablespoon loose green tea
- 1 tablespoon dried and grounded mint leaves
- 6-7 tablespoons sugar
- Juice of 1-2 lemons and lemon peel
- Fresh mint leaves ( mostly use for serving)
- Hot water
Bring 2 liters of water to a boil. Place both black and green tea and dried mint in a large glass pitcher, and pour 2 liters of hot water over them. Cover the pitcher with a kitchen towel and steep for 10-15 minutes. Pour the mixture through a strainer to a larger pitcher or a bowl that can take 4-5 liters. Add the sugar and let it dissolve then add juice of both lemons and peels. Then add cold water up
to 2-3 liters according to your taste. After chilling, serve with
ice cubes and fresh mint leaves.
